We pre mow every other round. I know it’s not as cheap as just grazing but
1. It grows more grass
2. We get more intake
3. It keeps the weeds from seeding ( never had to spray grazing since pre mow)
4. Cheaper than buffer feeding 8500 litre cows.
Most important thing I was told is not to let the semen warm up and cool down, so however you thaw it keep the temperature rising slowly until it’s in the cow at the correct temperature.
Mainly docks 3 weeks after silage cut. A local farmer told me to try it because he thinks the 2,4D takes the dockstar to the roots better. I don’t know just thought I’d try it.
