Thanks Flatlander, we are running spoked depth wheels on nearly all the units now, we have a crate of spares already from Excel, we are going to re disc and boot every unit. I totally agree with you how important it is to have minimal play in the boot to get a nice establishment. Will try get...

Disc seeder build - Aussie style

Yes mate they are very similar to a JD unit, Excel (Excel are Aussie drill builders) these ones are branded but I'm pretty sure there are made by Ingersoll in south america. No weight hasnt been a drama for any soil conditions we have encountered.

    Converting drill for direct drilling.

We used the 45 x12mm, you can also get a 'helper' for those Bareco tynes that will give you a higher break out again. Yeah setup runs well, that point Taege run is well designed, we mainly use that drill when conditions become to sticky for our disc machine, most of the drilling has been into...

    Converting drill for direct drilling.

I used the same Taege clamp on boots and points you are talking about on some Bareco 'S Tines ' a few years ago, the reason I liked them was that I need more ground clearance so I was able to cut 3 inches of the bottom of the tine. They are a great point and boot setup and the the points are...

    Bettinson DD drill

Gday Mark yes I have used the small seed rollers for lucerne, rye grass and millet, I am fortunate engough to have got my hands on a full set of rollers with the shafts and bearing housings so changing over is very quick and easy. However I found seeding rate accuracy to be pretty poor as the...

Hey mate Alan King in Griffith NSW 0269626219 he makes the rollers, he also does the small seeds (plain) roller as well. I think he said he also makes the black rubber suspension blocks that look like a footy too, the rollers were about $80 each. Send us a message if you need any other parts...

    Bettison 3 D Help please

My Bettinson is capture the seed from 4x outlets, crank the handle 15 revs and then multiply mass by 69. I purchased my drill second-hand also which didn't come with the small seed plates, we made some out of plastic cattle ear tags.

    Bettinson DD drill

Gday mate, I'm currently running one over in Aus, and getting great results from it. Mine is the earlier of the triple disc machines. We use it for direct drilling cereals as well as small seeds such as Lucerne and clovers. I have made a lot of mods and improvements to it and I'm currently...
