Back in the early 80's my dad was driving a county skidder in the woods. It had a log dozer type blade on the front and hydraulic winches on the rear and was covered in guards etc, also had balloon tyres.

Thank you for your replies, I have mobile reception at the rental but not at my own house. Broadband at both places. As I said earlier I am a bit naive/slow to grasp how this works. Ring door bell sounds like a good option.
Cheers
Hello, firstly I must apologise if this is posted in the wrong place. I have a rental property which is 3/4 of a mile from my house and out of direct view. The property is used for holiday let's and as such there are alot of change overs to do, we ask people to vacate by 11am but quite often...
Thanks, never even considered the insulating properties. Have been hand digging holes as deep as poss then cutting a notch out of post with chainsaw, a bit like a slice of melon a and dropping it in. Get mate with pan mixer to fill up hole on outside of pipe first asnd pack cement in with 2x...
Have tried casting strainers in the past and they worked OK but due to worrying about them breaking they ended up quite big, about a foot square and so took a bit of working with to get plums in hole etc. Can't get any concrete sleepers here (which I think would be ideal) so have started using...
Got in tractor today and it's changing high/low no problem! 3 days sitting in the rain seems to have sorted it, might try lottery on Saturday. Thank you for the replies.
Thanks mo and mf Andy, really appreciate your advice, am tied up next couple of days but will give it a go when free, maybe it will sort it's self if I leave it for a while!
Hello, thanks for getting back to me, the light stays in hare no matter what we've tried, definitely not an indication problem because tractor was definitely in high, remove the wire and the gear lever goes solid, reconnect and the lever jumps toward your knee as soon as the wire is put on.
Hello mf-Andy, disconnected the wire and the gear stick went solid as far as moving it side to side is concerned, it would still move forwards and backwards i.e from 1st to 2nd and the gearbox was in high with the light showing the hare, tried this and different variations of it several times...
Hello, as above tractor won't go into low. Have looked all around linkages for the gear lever and it all seems fine, can still get 1-4 . Got a more mechanically experienced mate to have a look and we checked out the solenoids and they all seemed fine, swapped the 4 wheel drive and low/high...
Hello, thanks for replies.air and fuel filters are new.will check thermostart and breather.just a bit annoying after time and expense that its not a bit smoother.thought it might have been an injector pump issue but maybe should just be happy considering the hours that are on it.
Hello, due to poor compression I put the head to a company who told me it needed skimmed and also reseated valves and serviced injectors.noticed a very slight bit of play on a couple of pistons but was stupidly? eager and put the whole thing back together.tractor is starting an awful lot...
