Thanks @Cows 'n grass. I must show some info to the good folks of TFF. I go on about it quite a bit in other places! Only because I'm so chuffed with it, I shall post some photos at some point

Strip till maize here. This is the second year with the Grange machine. 60kgs N/ha is going into the strips. Will be back in a couple of days with the drill. A two pass system makes a lovely seedbed. 500mm centres with the whole profile being lifted

    Second hand weighbridge

Would anybody estimate the value of a 12 year old 50 tonne weighbridge? Above ground

How much N is actually available for a following winter crop after a clover/legume fallow?

In soil mineral tests of a beans and oats cover crop, there was 30kgs/ha of N more than in the control strip which was just volunteer barley

    Spring barley

Sienna spring barley does a good job here. Huge specific weight, stands well and good straw

    Steel frame

To add to the questions, are the up rights bolted or will they be cut off?

    State of your crops -2022

Memento barley with pig slurry applied on the right. OSR is a bit happy this year. Pigeons have been on it all winter

    Spring barley (feed)

Got burnt once drilling early which was followed by alot more winter weather. But agree great to get it in if the conditions allow end of Feb onwards.

    How late do you graze?

Lambs finished grazing wheat last year on the 5th March.

    Low disturbance subsoiler?

Prevention is better than cure, but sometimes damage can't be avoided? And a quick repair to bring up crop performance and make the best return will pay? Have fields here that have only had the drill for 14 years now, tramlines in the same place, wide rotation etc. Then others that need a lift...
