Yes, we were getting the beet harvester stuck several times a day. We bought our first combi drill that autumn so we could put stuff in right behind the plough, cutting edge stuff for Staffordshire! ;-)
I’m thinking about one. My GD makes a nice job on most of our ground and establishment is generally very good…BUT on our lighter soils the discs just don’t want to turn. I don’t want to go away from the angled disc, hence the Horizon could be a viable alternative.
I’m going to drill some beans tomorrow, resorted to ploughing and combi drill. Looking at the forecast I’m hoping to finish the barley off towards the back end of next week. Quite sandy and quinoa volunteers growing, dd should work ok.
Tied up cleaning Quinoa today, had to be done ASAP, so missed the last opportunity for a while. Not too concerned about going into November with wheat and beans, but got 50 acres of winter barley left to drill which is a worry.
