I'm not so sure, more efficient certainly but cheaper? We've been building diesel-electric systems for a long time so even back when CVTs were just on the drawing board it wouldn't have been too novel.
I imagine there's a good reason why they went for a hydrostat over electric, whether that was...
Weird.. Around here most people is completely enamoured with the reliability of the sisu-era 74 and 8400 series.
For example a man I helped for a few summers had an 8480 at ~15k hours with very little spanner work done.
If nothing else the exhaust note of those big Sisu's is just orgasmic
Haven't posted here in a looooong time now and this is the first I see upon returning, almost makes you a believer
Well then, the 840 was introduced in '66 while the 841 came along in '72, there is not any huge differences just a whole host of small improvements over the span of...
The 7000 range gets its Vario box from CNH so mechanically speaking it's the exact same as CVX or AutoCommand. In other words it's as good as any other.
Plenty of people up here in Sweden and Norway seem to get on perfectly well with their ASHP's though.
Ground source only freeze up if the loop is waaay too short compared to the amount of heat you expect to extract from the ground. It's not a GSHP problem, it's a...
Machines runs on electricity though. I've yet to see a person manage that feat...
On top of that machines means a more efficient process due to a more predictable procedure allowing you to streamline everything, as well as less waste.

They actually have two 6160 4 pots and one 7250 who all feel great transmission wise. (especially the 6160 are pocket rockets even on the road).
But the 9340 felt sluggish somehow, like it had a converter that would always be slipping on road hauling or something...
Mind you I loved driving the...
Interesting.. The machine station (or whatever it's called) that I help out on over the summers just traded in their 9340 because it was "gutless on the road" which is a bit of a problem when its main duty was pulling an 18m³ slurry tanker.
