    Gamic

Just delivered last night so thought I’d post on the thread that originally inspired me to order one (around 18 months ago mind)! 10x5’ to replace an Ifor p7e that was starting to show its age. Spec’d with lift up roof (never paid the extra for struts) although now seeing it in the flesh it’s...

    Best Padlock Lubricant

I’ve had great success with this on padlocks or any cylinder lock. You can put some on the key and work it back and forth or whoosh some in the keyhole by squeezing the tube. Far better and longer lasting than any WD40, silicon, lithium or other oils or grease I’ve tried before.

    I admit, I have a workshop tool addiction :-)

Nice one, definitely counts in my eyes. I bought two on a Black Friday deal (probably similar to trade card price) and also went for bottom units only on the basis of building a bench above them. Keep us updated when you have it filled with tools? Any ideas you have with organising would be good...

Stoney creek vs Kaiwaka vs Ridgeline vs Betacraft

Would agree with this. Kaiwaka bib and brace is comfiest for wearing all day and jumping in/out of pickup etc. Great for showers or drizzly days but if it’s coming down in sheets the Guy Cottens cannot be beaten. Find the cheaper set without front pocket last half the time but have more give so...

    Timber Dimension for supporting cladding?

Mostly covered here but I’d recommend having the lowest side rail just above the panel and overlap sheets 150 past the bottom of the bottom rail to cover panel join. No need to drill/fix to panel then. We would do side rails 150x75 (6x3”) for 6.1m (20ft) bays or 125x75 (5x3”) for 4.57m (15ft)...

    Scanning scam

99% sure we have the same scanner. Over the past 6 years and 2500 ewes he has got one wrong in my memory. Always find them punctual and you won’t meet nicer folk, worth a lot too.

    Heatwave/ bulk mixing lamlac "hacks"

Last year we had one batch reared on the Heatwave absolutely fine. Second batch we had a hell of a bother with air bubbles in the pipe and suction required to get the milk through. Usually the action of squeezing the teat and allowing it to spring back to its natural state was enough to bring...

    Coming Home For Lambing.

It’s strictly a one way system! I tend to sweep around the ewes with a wide cast like a dog would before starting to snack and have a few drops down before they catch up. Manage to avoid too much confrontation that way so no problem even with two trailers.

    Coming Home For Lambing.

Been thinking about Gator and this thread recently when I’ve been filling my molasses tubs. The logic bowser setup was a direct copy/influence from the man himself and I appreciated him sharing his ideas with the community! Wonder what he would make of the latest road train?? Hope you have a...

Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Nugent 14’ behind 3L Hilux here. Unpopular opinion coming but the Navara 2.3 twin turbo pulls far better. Tempted to DPF/EGR delete and remap but would likely go through clutches for fun. Do yourself a favour and put 2No 10mm bolts through the holes in the back frame to keep the loading gates...

    Tax on farm cottages rent

I have queried/argued this to no avail, property income is listed separately on tax return. This isn’t just relevant for those trying to stay within personal allowance levels of overall income. In the case I was querying, the properties were purchased jointly in both partners names. Farm...

    I admit, I have a workshop tool addiction :-)

Another 20% off code on eBay this week (I’m a sucker for them too)! That makes the hi torque impact £166 which is a cracking price. Note 3/4 drive is dearer but might suit some folk...

    Workshop Press Recommendations

Not sure if you’ve come across these but SGS were highly regarded when I researched similar recently and I just had the 30t delivered on Friday. Not had a chance to setup yet but weighs a ton! The 30t has a few features over the 20t such as foot pedal etc wo was worth the extra for me, though I...

    Cordless angle Grinder

It’s a good question, I’d always thought a paddle would be better but truth be told they are better for different jobs. I’ve got a slide switch on grinding discs/wire cups and paddle on cutting disks and flap discs, which I find works well. Also have the Makita 517 mentioned earlier and find it...
