I work out the time it will take to do the delivery. So 1 hrs round trip is £40. This gets worked in to the delivered price over the ex farm price. So if they have 10 bales it adds £4 a bale. If they have 4 bales it adds £10 a bale.
There are far too many farmers who don't cost their time and...
Bit off topic but has anyone made a sensible, safe lifting device for cars and vans?
I seem to remember something you drove the front wheels on and lifted with telehandler then it had a drop down safety prop type of thing.
I remember @Bossfarmer some time ago saying that rents would go up after the subsidy reduced as everyone would be chasing more land to spread costs over.
I wonder which way it will go.
For me I will definitely be paying less rent or not bothering!
In some respects it would be good to keep income streams separate.
Different bank accounts. Different tax accounts. Different records for labour use.
Too many of us don't see the clear picture.
Those who own land are often making the profit from owning the land rather than "farming".
