68 plate with 109k now from new. Only had a switch on transfer box under warranty, needs a number plate lamp now but its out of warranty. Other than that absolutely nothing else has gone wrong. Best truck I have ever had!! Received the software update letter, but no chance I'll be taking it in.

Why is it held so early in the year? Very unlikely to get dry weather and good conditions underfoot in February, be better put back until the end of March IMO. Good weather not guaranteed then, but far better chance of drier and warmer weather.

Agree, fantastic cars which is reflected in their used values. I actually went to by a CRV when I bought the the Mazda, but it wasn't as tidy as the dealer made out. Then saw he had the Mazda as well which was much tidier and a better deal.

OH recently had a Rav briefly as we needed a bigger car quickly and this was available locally. We both hated it, everything about it annoyed me. Despite being invincible spec, it was noisy, poor to drive, and the infotainment / sat nav system was awful. Swapped it within 3 months for a Mazda...

Possibly, dad had a new 16 plate swb auto very briefly, it was horrible. My 12 plate manual was far better. He traded within 12 months as he just couldn't get on with it and went back to owning Discovery's.

Disco 4 is hands down the better vehicle in terms of comfort performance and ergonomics. But given your situation a shogun may be the better bet. With both models getting on a bit, the disco can come with some hefty repair bills, timing belts need doing at circa 100k, not an easy job, and there...

Drive a 2016 model occasionally. IME the manual box is poor if doing a lot of towing, first gear is far to high in ratio and pulling off with a loaded trailer on any kind of incline means slipping the clutch or low box. Auto may be better.

Not the same engine, but deutz here had similar issue. Cranked fine but would not start. Issue traced to a bad earth, cleaned, refitted been perfect since.
