    Working gloves

What are people wearing for working. I wear these. Totally waterproof, but not the warmest and sort of make your hands sweaty.

    Earthing an Electric Fence Unit

Can I earth the electric fence unit onto the H beam in a steel frame shed. Had to move the unit for our permanent electric fencing into a different shed. Or how would people suggest earthing it. Other idea was to burry a length of motorway crash barrier.

    Biomeiler/ compost heat recovery

Don’t know anything about it but this article was in the farmers guardian, and took my interest. Looks like a simple setup to play about with/ get started. I was wondering if water pipes in the concrete underneath straw bedded cattle would heat water much.

    Concrete panels

Cumbria concrete panels are good. And they were easy to deal with, a few years ago tho since I bought any from them. Just bought a Robinsons from Lockerbie shed and panels. They are fine aswell, not the biggest fan of the lifting eyes on there panels tho.

    Spring water treatment

I was looking into possibly fitting uv onto my spring supply. I was advised to us UV as close to when the water is going to be drunk. So fitting uv it the houses might be the way to go.

Straw chopped mixing silage and straw

If you are feeding cows silage through a bedding machine, given them a fixed amount they will fill themselves up on straw. Never known a cow not to eat straw. A ring feeder in the pen would be fine. Just make sure there is enough head space at the feed barrier so each cow gets her fair share of...

    Straw bedder for silage

We have put plenty of chopped silage bales, out of a vicon belt baler so solid bales, through a KV bedding machine. Worked fine, just takes time. I put extra blades on the rotor of the bedding machine to chop the silage more. Other thing to watch was making sure first bale was finished before...

    Farming podcasts

I second the rock and roll farming, shame he stopped. Livestock wise The Pasture Pod is good. Just listened to the Two Crawfords podcast on Sunday for the first time. Easily past an hour instead of rubbish Sunday radio.

    Pre emergent tramline markers

It’s a claas 630 and a trailed farmgem 24 metres. That’s another thought/ problem if I change the tractor in next couple of years which will probably happen, and I have put one of these auto steer systems on. Are they redundant if next tractor is auto steer ready. My understanding is these...

    Pre emergent tramline markers

Would something like this do the job, is there any of these steering wheel kits better than others. Or is that another thread I need to read. it’s also the subscription for these things that begins to add up.

    Pre emergent tramline markers

What is AgOpenGPS? Is that the signal you run from. Have wondered about an auto steer kit for the sprayer tractor. But I thought it would be £5k minimum plus annual sub for signal. Pre em marks from the old solitair8 won’t fit either.
