Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

The cover crop is fairly thick, will need plenty of time for allow the worms etc to break the plants down before we come in with our tine drill. Don’t want it blocking up every run.

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

Haha I know where you’re coming from, in an ideal world it would be green till we drill but sadly it’s not. We do not have an issue with soil erosion because of our heavy ground, drains run clean 99% of the time so that’s not our primary reason for a cover crop but to improve soil biodiversity...

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

It has been in the ground for nearly 5 months, it’s a very thick in places also, want to get it down and start breaking down as we don’t have the benefits of direct drill. We are also on very heavy ground so need it to dry out in the spring to get the following crop in at a reasonable time.

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

This is interesting thought 🤔 I do worry about a thick layer of mulch sticking around and causing more problems with topping

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

This is also another option, our toper is only 2.7m wide which is not ideal with wheelings.

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

Well the idea is I don’t want to use glyphosate and we have a 12m set of heavy dalbo rolls in the shed so now we have some frost a coming through to crack and bruise the plants letting the frost get into them? Just not sure how successful it is? A crimper roller like pictured above would be...

Cambridge rolls to desiccate cover crops?

What are peoples views and experiences on rolling cover crops to desicate them on a frost? We have a mix of Tillage radish, Lilla Phacellia and Ovidio Berseen Clover on some land going into spring crops. we drill using a Weaving Sabre tine and I am worried about having to much trash in the...

    Avadex contracting rates midlands

Would be interested to know how you get on, we tried a few fields a few years back and found the liquid stuff to be a lot less affective? But then again every year is different and I’m sure the product has improved a lot since then.

    Avadex contracting rates midlands

How much are people charging for applying avadex? Recently bought a 24m avadexing machine mounted on an old self-propelled sprayer. The published 2021 contracting rates I have found are up around £7.40 an acre which I think is a hell of a lot? What are people charging. I’m from the midlands area.
