    how many of us are in a scheme? 20,000? RPA could employ 80 capable people to look after 250 farmers each. Yearly inspections plus on call for problems. Same person every time to develop trust etc. Pay them 50k plus a year, they will soon recoup that by exposing those abusing the system. Surely...

    Lower lambing percentage

    Late weaning and no flushing keeps us down to about 150% most years. Mostly texel crosses lambing outside during april.

    Why do lambs mispresent?

    Agreed. Since switching to outdoor lambing several years ago seem to have far fewer malpresentations.

    Ant Hills- How do you deal with them?

    They will only appear in undergrazed or deferred grazing in old pastures. Apparently the ants will make the hill to the grass height,incorporating the stems for holding soil in place.

    It went through ours 2 years ago just after lambing. Treated about 200 of 600 ewes but no lambs affected at all.

    A really nasty ailment in a sheep flock which can cause chaos. Got to identify and treat as early as possible.
