I would check the relays, there will be 2 of them under the righthand side panel below the steering wheel, if the same as the 406. If and when it does it again just swap the relays over and see if it goes in reverse and not forwards, the relays are generic 4 or 5 pin, can’t remember, but only...

Milwaukee top handle (faster chain speed than rear handle) I was a doubter but now a total convert, brilliant saw for laying hedges, just pick up and put down! I use the 12amp battery which is quite heavy, you can use the lighter 8amp but make sure they are high output, normal ones can overheat...

Be careful shot blasting thin sheet steel, the heat generated from friction can distort body panels, it will depend on the blast media their using.

We had a 885XL many years ago, it wasn’t working when we bought it, found it was just a simple bad earth, on that particular model it was bolted to the battery box under the steps.

Just check it isn’t the relay that energises the stop solenoid, I bought a new one for ours thinking it was the solenoid, mines a doosan 75v but same yanmar engine.
