Accounting software - any farming ones recommended?

All : Very belatedly i just wanted to thank everyone for the replies on this. I went with Xero in the end, and so far (fingers crossed) I’m glad I did. Very helpful that you all suggested that. Early days but it does seem quite intuitive. Cheers all

Accounting software - any farming ones recommended?

All - this is great, i really appreciate it. looks like Xero it is then! Does anyone know if it has the option to track milage? Similarly record time (e.g. record hours i’m spending on different enterprises)? Both would be handy. Thanks for your help all.

Accounting software - any farming ones recommended?

Hi all I have a small farm business and have to ‘go digital’ this year for VAT returns etc. Non-farming friends have recommended Xero. Apparently it might have an agricultural package you can add on? Does anyone have any experience of this or is there a good one that most farmers use? I...

Thank you - really helpful. Each tree has deer guards on it which should keep the sheep off for a while. Sorry for follow up question but once the tree mature would i still need to protect them (i had in mind young bark is more nibblable!)

    Ponds

That’s really helpful both. So ponds are not inherently bad, from a farmer’s perspective. That’s really my question, and you’ve answered it. Thank you!

    Ponds

Thanks Dry Rot... yes i’m trying to adopt that philosophy (about questions). My site is like a little valley (a ‘combe’?). Water is gathering at the top, from road run off. The bottom is a brook. Water does move from top to bottom, but slowly, and in extreme weather conditions (snow melt then...

    Ponds

This is my first post, and i’m not from a farming background, so bear with me! I’m learning to look after a smallholding. This is a very big deal for me and something i am constantly obsessed with, and loving. It’s taken 15 years to raise enough money to get started and now i have, I want to do...
