Perhaps the definition of 'farmer' will be reviewed by a change of government and these schemes will be the catalyst. I'd imagine a labour government looking to raise more tax revenue could easily look closely at IHT and who should qualify.

Question . What qualifies as being recognised as a 'farmer'? The definition on google describes someone who cultivates the land or raises animals.

You obviously haven't encountered 60 day testing because the government has been shambolic in controlling bovine tb. Every 60 days until you go clear it is a couple of days wasted.

Why would they be concerned as some farmers think this is what the public want? :ROFLMAO:

It's not limited to 100 hectares changed in January. Ukrainian citizens can now accumulate upto 10,000 hectares but atm still restrictions for foreign nationals as you state.

land values have actually increased in big parts of Ukraine the last 12 months . There wasn't a big queue to buy land in Aberdeenshire at £600 acre in the early 90s either.

You would have those items regardless of sfi.:scratchhead: Has anyone actually asked the tax payers if they want food security or wildflowers? As for all this importing waffle well the last 24 hrs obviously shows the government was getting concerned about relying more on imports.

Average price of buying a ha of land in Ukraine in jan 2024 is quoted at 900 euros ha so where is the value to the UK tax payer in paying £853 ha for wild bird food for one year .?

Not just wealthy landowners though it very much suits large scale contract cereal farmers where a proportion of the land is poor yielding.

Ukraine is virtually unregulated so why should they need subsidies? The American dollar is the currency most agricultural commodities are traded in and USDA sets and readjusts accordingly to suit.

Except for you seem to not understand that farming is subsidised in the EU and the USA which is the main setter of agricultural commodity prices.
