Depends on variety but good start would be 500'000 seeds to acre. Sowed thousands of acres but always sowed on seeds to acre basis. Perhaps for bunching would be better on 2 row discs for stronger tops.
I cant help think you are fussing over nothing. There will be no restrictions on any following cropping after carrots harvested or otherwise. The crop if harvested and marketed would be able to be eaten raw so i think looking for reasons not to plant a following crop will be futile.
