    Lambing staff

That’s the thing I’m weighing up what to do risk wise… Iv culled nearly 100 ewes for not rearing a lamb this year … not a situation I want too end up in again

    Lambing staff

It’s the first year doing it, restrictions on the amount I can lamb indoors has forced me to… although Iv linearly finished the outdoor batch and I’m seriously considering moving everything too outdoor in April now after my schmellanberg troubles in January …

    Fully Shepherded cover crop tack

We don’t know it’s crap grass do we it hasn’t even f**king grown yet🤦‍♂️? Shepherding isn’t free electric fencing is time consuming and expensive too buy .. I tend too value shepherding at 50p a head a week… i tack 5-6000 sheep every year so I’m pretty sure I’m on a planet that has half an...

    Fully Shepherded cover crop tack

It’s a shame about the grazing window being so small.. 300 acres in 2 and half months will want 1000-1500 sheep which for somebody local would be justifiable but anybody of any sort of distance away wouldn’t be any the haulage bill for such a short time

    Lambing staff

You were lucky … I had a student last year and she was terrified of sheep 🤦‍♂️ was Definatly more hassle than help so I didn’t bother again this year

    Fully Shepherded cover crop tack

Tough one that it’s a large area too get across in a short amount of time 😬 never know where too value summer tack really because it’s a bit less labour intensive than winter tack and they don’t fly across it the same because it grows under them… 80p for ewes 60p for lambs maybe? 🤷🏻‍♂️ ought too...

Confessions of the Sheep/Beef Cattle/Pig Addicts

Do they shear okay since they’ve not lambed yet? They normally moan they’re too sticky when you shear early so I’d assume they’d be very sticky now? Or would the wool not of waxed up yet because they’ve not lambed yet?

Is this normally how animals are kept

I wouldn’t say it looks great… but the cattle look Iv very good health and clean which suggests that they get bedded down regular even if it’s not mucked out regular

Do you pay staff for there dinner breaks?

Get them too stitch themselves up should there be an accident 🤦‍♂️😂 I like that

    Jabbing a ewe, post lambing.

Why are you lot routinely jabbing just because youv had a hand in? I thought we were trying to get away from routine AB? 🤔 I’ll only jab if I feel like Iv been a bit hard on her or she might of torn a bit

    KTwo gone bust?

Depends what the reason for it going tits up was… place I used to work bought a batch of trailers pre Covid… paid for signed and sealed ect … then they turned up 12-18 months later after the Covid debacale… the prices had gone up considerably but they had too honour the original deal… if that...
