    Titan sds max

Yes the sds drills are ok for small jobs but the purpose built concrete breakers will take out concrete slabs with ease. I have a cheap scheppach one that was on offer from aldi. I used a couple of other brands previously and they all seem to be very similar. If there's not much to do, levering...

    Hydraulic filter on Massey 4355

No. I've just had a look in our 550 manual. There is a strainer underneath (triangular plate with 3 bolts) but if it's anything like the 4200/4300 series it won't collect anything and there is a transmission filter under the bonnet next to the air filter. Unscrew a bowl to access. The...

    Hydraulic filter on Massey 4355

On the right hand side behind the gear linkages. There are 2 10mm bolts holding a lemon shaped plate. This is the one that fills up with crud and does most of the filtering.

    Repairing concrete floor.

I used to just mix sand and cement in equal parts for shallow holes or cement/gravel for pot holes and cover over with a piece of ply wood at milking time. Then try and wash around it for a couple of days until it's properly set

    What bale grab

We use rollers for chopped silage and soft hands for haylaye. I much prefer the rollers since I can stack an extra layer higher, quicker cyle times and less wear on the loader pivots since the bales aren't being rotated 90 degrees. But then we cart with a keltrans rather than flat trailer...

Grass reseeds - Flat or Cambridge roll?

I wouldn't worry too much about the type of roller. This is our reseed from last autumn. It started raining after sowing so it didn't get rolled till spring. I'm very pleased with it especially since it's had no muck or fert for about 3 years. And this is a different field that was cut last...

    quick fixes, bodges and creations

This old sprayer frame comes in handy for carrying fence posts. I've just caught up with this thread reading some pre Christmas posts about angle grinder nuts. I can't remember if I posted this on here before but this is my home made pin spanner made from three 6 inch nails for the small...

    Which electric chainsaw ?

JCB do a hydraulic breaker I believe. Stanley make/made hydraulic chansaws that could be run of powerpacks or tractors. We used to have a stanley saw but it was slow and awkward compared to a petrol saw. Edit I think mcconnel made a hydraulic saw many many years ago too.

    Foot trimming crush

We have an IAE crush for sale. We sold the cows last year so no longer required. It's quite an old one but does the job. Fully galv checkerplate on this one. The rear gates have been repaired (a weakness on these) and the front left block was replaced recently. Includes a new block for the front...

    Angle grinder, left or right?

Sorry, I was just talking about a 9 inch grinder cutting vertically and comparing it to a vertical cut with a chainsaw.

    Angle grinder, left or right?

With a chainsaw the right hand is controlling the throttle and both hands control the movement of the chain bar. A grinder is just on/off, the left hand holds down the trigger and the right hand predominantly controls the movement of the disc. These are the safest ways of using each tool for...

    Best tyre levers?

We have a couple of the 39" melco levers. They are ok but I don't like the s shaped end on them. It tends to get trapped between tyre and rim too easily with no way to extract. I keep threatening to take the angle grinder to them to try and reprofile that end a bit. I ground of the little...

    Claas 355rc net roller

Try these guys https://www.bhleakerubber.co.uk/ The rubber roller on our deere baler was very wrinkly before we took it in for resurfacing plus all the cut marks from the stanly knife. It has come back looking like new.

    Resurfacing rubber rollers

Cheers guys. In the end we took it to BH Leake. It looks like they have done an excellent job :)
