    Lemken Rubin

Hi anybody got a set of these? My neighbour is retiring and has a 3m semi mounted set with a rear hydraulic wheel, bit like a caster wheel. It’s in good fettle and I’m thinking of buying it. Any pro’s and con’s? Id be looking for it as a stubble chit machine mainly using it fairly shallow. My...

    Biomass pipe insulation

Yes of course pre-insulated underground. There is about a foot spare where it’s been cut back to join into a 90 degree fitting but I want to cover everything that’s above ground before it enters the shed. So ofgem don’t have an insulation spec then? Just household would be fine.

    Biomass pipe insulation

Recently run some new pipes underground to put heating into the workshop from the boiler. We have about a metre of pipe sticking out the ground before it goes into the workshop we obviously need to cover up properly before reporting the alteration to our system to ofgem. I’m having metal box...

    NFU shafts Red Tractor

She’s well out of her depth now and can’t cope or deal with the job. Rumour mill says she’s going.

    Extase potential problems

Think yourself lucky it’s 1.5t/ac down on everything else and 200ac of the stuff. We’re out as well as it’s the worst variety we have ever grown here. It’s extremely widespread and I know somebody who’s talking to the recommended list trying to get it removed. There’s something drastically wrong...

Bought a load of barley straw (2020 crop) in June and just starting to use it, but is it really barley straw 🤷🏻‍♂️. See pics.

    Axle flow 8010

40t/hour is a good average. A machine that age will have the old chopper which isn’t the best. The 30ft + headers of that era had a tendency to split the intake augers. Other than that not a lot else. Good machines.

    Which feed wheat?

Looking for a new feed wheat. Has anything performed well the last few years? Not Extase!

Front and back flail topper combo

So can the rear mower run centrally behind the tractor or must it side shift to run?

    Lorry driver shortage

Few younger lads just out of uni with various degrees such as engineering who can’t get jobs and are working for the likes of dhl/fed-ex.

    Lorry driver shortage

Yes really bad. Some drivers are demanding £35/hour

Front and back flail topper combo

Looking to flail 6m stewardship margins, winter cover crops and some grass paddock work. The annual workload isn’t massive at around 300-400ac per year so want something affordable. We’re currently doing it with a 3m rear mounted topper but it won’t flail the flattened cover crop in the tractor...

    JD x9 demo

I did say ‘nearly’ twice the speed and in this instance the NH could only manage 3.5km/hr with a 40ft header as it had losses. The X9 was doing 6.5km/hr with a 40ft header with zero losses and a better sample. If I hadn’t seen it myself I wouldn’t of believed it.
