Thats what they offered! First I’ve heard of it too, unit price is a couple pence more but works out cheaper for us

Sustainable farming incentive - handbook for 2023 has been published

I don’t think it’s been answered on here yet. For num2: legumes on improved grassland, what sort of amount of legumes is needed? Just about all ours has clover in it but don’t want to be clobbered if there’s not enough! @Janet Hughes Defra

Sustainable farming incentive - handbook for 2023 has been published

We signed up for the grassland scheme, the only thing we had t do was a soil management plan, everything else was already in place. We’ve had just over 2 grand in the last 6 months. If that’s being greedy then so be it but seems like a good decision for us!

    sfi application mechanism and submission

We entered the grassland standard back before Christmas with about half the farm into the introductory level and half in the intermediate. Cant comment on linking with mid tier as we’re not in that but very straightforward to apply. like you say we’re doing most of it anyway so just as we’ll be...

    CS on land without entitlements

Thanks all, that’s what I was hoping to hear, makes it all a bit more worthwhile! I guess the same can be said for SFI too?

    CS on land without entitlements

Hi all, looking at claiming for some capital grants, mainly fencing and hedge work. But we don’t have entitlements for some of our land, can I still claim CS on this?

    Cruciate Ligament in sheepdog

We recently had the op done on our 2 year old working springer, cost about £3600 (luckily covered by insurance). 6 weeks rest, he was lightly sedated through the resting period, another 2 - 3 weeks on lighter duties. 7 months later and you wouldn’t know he had anything done. Id have it done...
