    VW kombi van

They’re no different to any vehicle, you get good and bad ones. I bought one at 3 years old, and ran it for 5 years. Had no issues, just normal servicing and a set of tyres. Sold it for more than I bought it for 🤣

    Excavator on road

you do see some that are road registered in auctions, usually ex-hire. I think it’s to tick the box when working on public road outside of closures.

    Mole valley closing depots.

I’m sure we had a leaflet through the door for them last week or so. What’s the point when you’re closing the store that’s 10 mins away 🤷🏻‍♂️

    VW Touareg.

Had one with the earlier 2.5tdi. Same 174bhp engine as a T5 transporter. Pretty decent spec with electric everything inc heated seats and steering wheel. Mine was manual and towed no problems, however auto would probably be better. Had high/low box on a dial and irrc a locking center diff. If...

    Debt recovery

I got a ccj against a customer for a fairly small amount. Progressed with county court bailiffs who were turned away at door and basically useless and just cost me more money. High court bailiffs seem more successful.

Buying a second hand car? READ THIS

Anything is possible with modern cars, like the poor guy on piston heads who thought he’d bought a BMW 1M, but turns out was a cloned car. All numbers matched including on ECU 😬 https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=255&t=2002729

    Small excavator choice

What budget have you got in mind, prices are pretty high at the moment!? Well used jcb8008 or Kubota k008 micros are probably the cheapest “micro” diggers. Not the nicest to use all day but still far more productive than a shovel! The Bobcat E10 with servo controls is one of the best micros but...

    JCB 2CX

A friend of mine has a 2cx in his yard that will load a high sided 26t tipper. I would think it’s very similar in height to an artic trailer.

    Bit of plumbing

I’d solder a 3/4 to 22mm socket and a stub of pipe then use one of these. Other way would be to use a 25x 3/4 female thread fitting then a 3/4 to 22mm compression male iron threaded into it. Then replace the 22mm olive with a 3/4 one.

2016 2.5 Isuzu Dmax DFP issue

Mine started doing it, main dealer weren’t interested in getting to the bottom of it despite being reported before end of warranty. Was thinking of selling but useless dealer confirmed my thoughts and Sold it shortly after.

    Draw bar height

Why would it be better lower on the back when empty, would just be worse when loaded. Does it not level out when loaded (correctly)?

Buying from Ritchie Bros, Euroauctions, etc?

Bought a few bits from Ritchie bros when they were near Donington Park, haven’t been since they moved.

    Horse trailer wiring help

Wire existing cables into a junction box at the front of the trailer. Run a shorter cable from junction box to connect to vehicle with 13pin plug, then if it ever gets damaged it’s simple to replace.

Knocking a pipe under a road

If you’re going to pay someone to do the job, use a larger duct than you actually need then there’s space if you want to pass anything else under further down the line!
