    Objecting to a Bridleway.

Difficult these days to make footpaths accessible to wheelchair users (v. important in my book), but at the same time discourage access for teens on scramblers.

    Brewdog’s Scottish Forest

I still wouldn't buy it on principle. The appalling treatment of their rural tenants and employees is well documented.

    Grain maize questions

That's obviously what his hi-tech rubber mat is far, but there would be a right mess if you split one in the yard. It does look like he's baling a lot of water. If they are used within a few weeks it must work out staggeringly expensive. I'd like to see how he stacks/stores them, presumably...

    Grain maize questions

    Islam

Not wanting to stir the pot, (but this is a discussion forum); I see that Westminster Abbey has flown the flag of Pakistan to celebrate Pakistan's independence, during Holy Week. I can't imagine Finsbury Park Mosque flying a Union Flag during Eid as a celebration of multi-faith harmony...

    Barley beef

Not sure about that, if you look at the amount of barley been drilled in place of wheat...

    Noise / cockerel / distance?

He must have been right outside the window because I could hear him ruffling his feathers through the double glazing. Our 4 yo daughter is fascinated by them strutting round and brawling.

    Noise / cockerel / distance?

This morning we had an effing cock pheasant crowing outside the house at the crack of dawn. Much louder than my banty cockerel

    King Charles 3rd

She might well be lying low and keeping her head down, dashing back to live in the woods on Vancouver Island at this rate... 🤐

    SFI....FUBAR

Classic law of unintended consequences. SFI was supposed to help the environment and reduce pollution/emissions. By reducing/handicapping food security by paying people £800/ha to not grow food, the imported food covering the gap is actually worse for the planet.

    Winter wheat gross margin

First thing they will look at is how many big % and/or large acreage schemes have already been agreed and signed off.

not one but two main aircraft carriers can not get out of port

Isn't one of the RFA ships due to be mothballed/retired early due to insufficient crew?

    Winter wheat gross margin

Is his agreement signed & sealed yet? Mentioned on multiple threads, 25% limit set against 6 SFI options that create no food...

Defra now looking at capping SFI

Exactly this. There isn't a bottomless pot of gold sat there ready to pay for SFI, which is why the government is so keen on getting privately-funded BNG schemes off the ground, so that SFI can be phased out.

    Winter wheat gross margin

I think today's published 25% limit is less about food security and more to do with how much money is in the pot to pay for the whole of SFI. The pot soon runs empty if a whole farm in every parish goes into SFI.
