There are around a dozen bale boilers, if not more, around Arbroath/Angus similar to the one you mentioned. The one that was taken out was a glenfarrow - From what I heard, it does nothing like what it says on the tin in terms of output..... No surprise there though! The others I refer to...
We can certainly help. We have a 600kW batch boiler being installed as we speak in Northumberland about 5 miles from Berwick as we speak. PM me or call on 07796262593 if interested to know more.
You point is very valid indeed. I see that it has been thoroughly aired below but if I may just give you my ha'pthworth - It is very much a case of apples with apples and must not be apples with pears. Sadly however, there are many out there who take up quotes for "boilers" and do not have...
Have you considered straw and log burners such as those supplied by Earthfire Energy? They come as single unit with boiler, integral control room housing all pumps, fans and heat exchanger etc together with a suitably sized accumulation tank. Fully RHI-able on straw and timber. Happy to discuss...
Floor systems are perfect for biomass systems in my opinion. Easy enough to fit to continuous flow dryers of Opico type dryers as well. A little more thought required but not rocket science. Have you considered using OSR or wheat straw as a fuel for you boiler? Have a look at Ekopal boilers...
Interesting exchanges. I have on authority, and in writing, from Ofgem that emissions testing results on one boiler in a range can be applied upwards or downwards in a ratio of two to one in terms of rated output. Conflicting advice?
Morally corrupt but the way the rules are written it encourages this sadly! Plenty folk putting in biomass systems to heat house(s) etc and then having a "dump" for the balance of the tier one energy allowance so as to top out the RHI payment. Workshops etc are a favourite. Earthfire Energy...
Have at look at Ekopal boilers. Earthfire energy supplies across uk and all fully RHI complaint. 07796262593 if you want to discuss. Putting in a 600kW containerised unit near Oxford in around three weeks time. Come and have a look.
Future degressions are likely as the RHI uptake continues. Have a look at www.earthfireenergy.co.uk suppliers of straw fuelled RHI compliant boilers across the uk. Happy to show you some sites if you venture north to Angus.
I think from memory that the recommended coverage is 600mm. Make sure bedded in send and covered with sand all round. This not only protects the expensive pipe work but also acts as an insulation. Some wetter soils can run water in your tracks. What you don't want is water running along the...
