    Is this goiter

I did a flotation and sedimentation and found nothing with either, so still scratching my head. Animal looks well, turnout coming soon (hopefully) and don't know whether its a good idea to let him go up the hill.

    Is this goiter

Thanks for the reply, Ill do a fecal tomorrow as somewhere easy to start, we don't treat for fluke because we send all our steers through the local abattoir and haven't seen any signs in the livers, but that applies to the past and this could be different.

    Is this goiter

One of our yearlings has a baggy looking jaw, is this goiter and what to do about it. None of the others seem to be affected, they are indoors on hay.

"Improving Our Lot" - Planned Holistic Grazing, for starters..

I was training in the engineering world when someone came up with "just in time technology" and at the time I remember thinking it was a good way of getting other people to do your storage. We have taken this to the next level and adopted "just too late technology" which encompasses all the...

What determines when grass runs to head?

Some bright spark said there was an hour less rain due to the clocks going forward, he's obviously missed the fact its a leap year, so whole days extra rain

    quick fixes, bodges and creations

Good job, you could just bung the old centre on first, keep the bearings safe. I don't know how its taken me 65 years to decide to buy a die grinder, its in use every week

    things that make you smile

Possible explanation, it was believed and in some places still is, that horses should not be fed newly made hay, and they would most likely have been stalled for most of the year, with a spell of being turned out, for a holiday or put out to grass. Hence the use of last years rich, which on the...

Old Ford will not bleed up?

Ive only ever owned one Ford, it's a 4000, and I can't find the tank breather. Mine used to blow the gasket round the top of the injector pump, eventually twigged that tank was pressured up, so I bought a new cap which I eventually worked out was doing the exact opposite and keeping such a...

    Hedge cutting deadline 2024

I fully apologies for insinuating that anyone was fat, or that fatness would cause people to be sanctimonious about anything. Im now busy crashing a bit of woodland on the floor so that Im not felling into March, it will make a mess and probably be better habitat than the anaemic sycamores that...

    Hedge cutting deadline 2024

Surprising that some (redacted) oik in a suit hasn't appeared making a speech about how he's "got our back" and has made sure that there is an extra day for poor farmers to cut there hedges on account of the wet weather. Edit :- word fat removed

    Re roofing Dutch barn

I went out for quotes for doing ours, one of the guys came back with a price, and said he could knock the old one down and put up identical for only two grand more, so we did that , galvanised included

Ive often thought I needed that, and decided that if I ever repaired my numberplate light I might accidentally put it upside down

    quick fixes, bodges and creations

On my model the numberplate light shines upwards where presumably its out of the way of the mirror, but it shines into the mirror obscuring your view of the hitch if you are operating in the dark, or in my case, used to obscure.... as I flattened on a tree
