    2wd v 4wd

So I need a tractor for mowing and a bit of loading, but as a complete newbie I'm wondering if I need 2wd or 4wd. Our land has a slight slope on it (picture below) and lays wet sometimes in Winter, but tbh it probably won't need mowing then and so probably won't need the 4wd. Any opinions...

That sounds good to me - we'll look to do something along those lines - I did also fancy some vines as we have an area of about half an acre on a gentle, south-facing slope - just be something nice to do in my spare time.

I think about 30 miles - once we're in I'll make sure I put something on your FB page and we can go from there.

They are indeed (about 9 miles) - I'll give them a call.

Where would I find someone to do a Direct Drill?

It does amaze me the way a lot of old tractors keep so much of their value - the proverbial workhorses as it were.

:ROFLMAO: I'm really excited TBH...I think we'll go as far as having some chickens but that's about it!

What's the approx cost per acre for direct drill? Just a ballpark would be useful.

TBH, I wouldn't want to spend more than £20k including attachments (which I assume would be a flail mower and a loader to start with).

We're going to incorporate it into the garden of the house which is very small - there is a retaining wall between the house garden and the manege so we'll put steps down to it, put soil in and seed it. Here is a picture of the manege:

Ha - I won't be doing that - I know my limitations! It is watered, and if we need to get t livestock fenced we'll do that.
