    We had one as well & there is nothing changed for 10+ years. Hopefully just scare tactics that makes them look good because they are helping farmers. Surely time would be better spent concentrating on paying on time & not adding extra worry.

    Fert on 2nd cut grass.

    We spread fert. 5 weeks ago after 1st cut. We had enough showers to wash it in but nothing since & no grass growth. IF we get rain at the weekend, will that fert still be available or would the grass benefit from an extra dose?

    Tagging new born suckler calves.

    We trim the cows tails & ears every year when they come in, keeps them cleaner & easier to read tags. Hang over from the dairy. We also do the yearlings tails, makes them look squarer on the backend to sell. ( or is that all in the mind!)

    We needed to get WiFi to top of garden to a caravan. We moved the router from the downstairs hall to an upstairs window facing the caravan. Then used a £10 plug in signal booster in the caravan, worked well.

    Help, no milk!,

    We've had fresh calvers with a lot of blood clots in the colostrom, large clots can easily block the teat & take a lot of pressure to get out. The milk can look like pure blood for a few days but clears up quite quickly.

    Calf with haemotoma/tumour

    We had a lump just like that on a 5mth calf, near it's navel & had grown gradually to cricket ball size. Didn't bother her but we were scared it might bleed out if damaged. Vet didn't know what it was so anaesthetised the calf & cut it out. It came away in one lump, a firm ,black, jelly - like...
