    Concrete cost.

Has the lockdown had much effect on concrete prices in the last few weeks? Many building sites are still working at the moment so presumably demand hasn't slipped too much and I've seen a few lorries about, just wondered what the latest was?

FTTP hardware and setup advice needed please.

We're part of a small Community Fibre Partnership which is in the process of installing FTTP. Remarkably the physical build is ahead of the office team at the moment (fibre has already arrived at the farm gate, Openreach office team say they've nearly finished planning the route) but very soon...

    Drinking nipples for cattle

How quickly do the cattle take to using them? Look like a great idea really

Mounting a camera on telescopic handler headstock

Thanks for the replies and the cable suggestion, greatly appreciated. I think we've come up with a compromise; on the side of the fixed boom next to the JCB fitted boom lights there are some pre-tapped bolt holes. The plan is to use two of these to mount an extension bracket for the camera to...

    Female Vets

We've only had female vets visiting the farm for the last 3 years but frankly whether they're male or female makes sod all difference to me. If there's a vet here I need their help and am already acknowledging that they're bother better qualified than me and more likely to achieve a positive...

Mounting a camera on telescopic handler headstock

How did you end up with this @Horn&corn ? Looking at doing similar and like you I'm not too keen on the wireless solution. It's noticeable that JCB attach their work lights to the fixed part of the boom rather than the telescopic bit but as there is a hole up the middle of the extending boom...

    Urea treated wholecrop

ph rises? I've read that feeding more than approx 6kg/hd/day can lead to visible grains in the dung but as a part of a grower ration it's inclusion rate would be well below this anyway.

    Urea treated wholecrop

When you urea treat the grain does it change anything in the analysis beyond the protein content? I'm assuming not and thinking of trying it this year with some of ours but can't find a huge amount online about it.

    Evicting a tenant.

He's well backed by the union in that job though; every episode something goes wrong and the vast majority of them are directly attributable to his own incompetence! It should be called "What's Pat fuc**d up today?" really.

    BBC online forecasts

You think the BBC is bad, just be glad you don't rely on the inbuilt misery inducer that lives inside the Muddy Boot Greenlight Grower Management program. Screenshots below but it's always raining in Greenlight, not sure there has been a spray day on there in the entire time we've been using it...

    Huawei

I'm not sure that's entirely the case; it's not just Google software from the US that is in their phones; there are a number of hardware components that are US sourced that may well be affected by the ban too. There's a BBC article here which suggests 2 front end modules and the storage maybe...

    Anyone used Impexron Ltd?

Has anyone on here used a company called Impexron Ltd to source spares? The website is suggesting they can source a part that I can't find at a sensible price in the UK but they're based in Bulgaria....

    Fibre to the premises

I'll look at that too, thank you (y)

    Fibre to the premises

Ah, ok, I can get round it being connected to their DP with some snips but the rest is a bit limiting. Have you come across these Ethernet Extenders before? They appear to be plug and play (ish), draw power from the POE and suggest they allow extended cable lengths to be created. It's reliant on...

    Fibre to the premises

Their spec is being emailed to me later, should be interesting to see.. Another question for you if you don't mind; if I put in a duct and they install fibre + copper in it (I'm told this is how it's done, rendering the old copper redundant) can I make use of the redundant copper for anything...
