    Latest wellies updates??

There are more than one type of Le Chameau, the ones with the check lining (MVF sell these) as you say do not stand up on their own, whereas the ones with blue neoprene do stand up on their own and seem more of a boot.

    Recording hedges

old fashioned and no doubt someone has created an App, but I am printed field map with number of trees circled on hedges, like the old FEP would do. I think there is a link to a programme or at least advice on the SFI hedgerows page? https://hedgerowsurvey.ptes.org/healthy-hedgerows-survey-guidance

    HRW1 and HRW2 - SFI Application Hedges

Same here, time I take out roadside and boundaries, barely worth the effort of creating the spreadsheet, but every penny will count here

    HRW1 and HRW2 - SFI Application Hedges

And this is supposed to be simple - it isnt. HRW1 can be both sides of the hedge including road hedges? but not hedges with neighbours. Can I include road hedges? HRW2 can be both sides of the hedge, but not roadside and not neighbours and not if with BE3. HRW3 needs to be both sides of the...

    Fencing grants?

You can have FG2 fencing grant if you put some of your farm into a CS scheme, doesn't need to be all the farm, we have a small agreement with some hedgerow options BE3 and GS2 permanent grassland with low inputs, this is on a hill that we do not put fertiliser on. Alongside the scheme options...

    Clipex - Fencing Tips

We are thinking of the Clipex fencing system -lots of fencing to do and looking at the Easy petrol post driver - what are others experiences as I see other cheaper petrol post drivers available or wait until the ground dries up and go on with tractor and old post bumber, which is sometimes...

    sh!t lambing

Only 26% total antibiotic use is in farm animals. Highest priority antibiotics have been reduced by 79% since 2014 in farm animals. UK farmers reduced use of antibiotics by 52% since 2014. 51% of UK adults own a pet - 4% vets always prescribe antibiotics. Source Ruma Conference 2021 - so we are...

Devon farmer ordered to pay £74k after letting cattle graze illegally

It doesn't look like it was a fine - just paying NE's court costs. The site will be 'better' in just two years....... The biodiversity is still there, the winter grazing will allow dormant seeds to germinate - NE do because they can and we all struggle to fight against them. Judge and jury.

    Natural England knows best?

I think there is much more to this story. Google suggests this area is common land with a commons association. Unless there are two sites with the same name in UK. In 2016 the area was part of a HLS agreement. Of course it is possible that the area in question is merely adjacent to the...

    Countryside stewardship extension offer

SSSI consent are now the only way that NE can control schemes as they are run by the RPA. They are a manipulative tool rather than anything benefical.

    Countryside stewardship extension offer

@Janet Hughes Defra will Natural England have to issue 5 year SSSI consent to 5 year HLS roll overs, or will NE not permit a five year HLS roll over because they do not feel they can offer a five year SSSI consent? I am concerned that many of our common land agreements will be lost because NE...
