Steel bunded fuel tanks with plastic inner?

Yes. J Seed make a steel fire rated tank with a plastic bunded envirostore inner. Pricey though. If you don't need fire protection you can buy decent bunded steel tanks. Try Tuffa.. we fit loads of them. Wouldn't worry about security as if they want in... they will get in! That said...

    Condensing oil boiler question

As above.. it's doable with the green system I think from memory. You need to get a Grant G1 installer to get the long warranty. (10 years on an external Vortex Pro) and they should be able to sort flue for you. It will be a bit of a headache and merchants unlikely to sort for you. Bit of a...

    Gator or a Polaris?

Father has a petrol polaris as much lighter and faster than the deisel at the time. MIL has deisel and its like a slug to drive in comparison. Probably better for load carrying and towing, but for checking and chasing sheep the petrol is better. I think the new polaris deisel is much...

    Mud control mats

Huge variation in ground mats, from 9mm thick LDPE 600mm x 2000mm to extremely heavy duty mats 3000mm long and capable of taking a lot of weight. Massive choice and difference in cost.

    Starting a contracting business

Trouble is.. people accept that to be a decent plumber/electrician you need to be trained and qualified and time served. But to be an agri contractor they think you just need the shiny kit, and forget about the slowly accumulated skills and knowledge it takes to actually be able to do the job...

Yea I agree that a decent trade is likely to be far more reliable at providing an income that agricultural contracting.

    Starting a contracting business

Sounds like he's full of crap. Don't believe what people tell you is a lesson I've slowly learnt. No one books a plumber 4 months ahead, especially a sole trader. If he can take 3 weeks off then he's doing install/new build only. No heating engineer with a customer base can dissappear for 3...

    Starting a contracting business

You're forgetting about the 4-10 years it takes to get fully qualified AND experienced... 2 year old transit fully kitted out with tools and boiler spares is about £30K plus the racking + sign writing.

Maybe not double the mass, but almost double the power and double the efficiency and with increased comfort and increased safety certainly.
