    Channel 4 now

The Apprentice and its ilk manages to keep the winner secret for months until it is aired on TV, through legal clauses etc. Would affect the running of the farm rather a lot if the successful tenants had to keep their heads down.

Not yet. The beavers are coming next week. Inevitably.

It’s like “The Apprentice“ except that the applicants do have a clue.

    Outpourings from Ben Goldsmith recently

You’re right, context is important. Maybe the whole herd was being culled out due to their ongoing African Swine Fever outbreak. Or due to overcrowding like the UK pig sector underwent due to “staff shortages“ at abattoirs. Without question what is wrong is the manner in which the euthanasia is...

    Moving Small Square bales

A contractor near me runs three or four bale barons behind balers and picks the packs up with an Arcusin chaser 16 packs at a time.

    Bale trailers

    Collings Bros gone

On a similar vein, in the Arable east, one Lexion has taken over the work of half a dozen smaller combines, 8070/15 ft size, each on separate farms, now all under one umbrella.

    Collings Bros gone

Class has sold off some branches in the South East (admittedly to make a mega dealer bigger).

Thank goodness Bears and wolves would probably devastate the pheasant population and would therefore not be tolerated under any circumstances in this corner of Suffolk.

    Collings Bros gone

I predict in a few years time a new trend. Fast forward to 2044…. The manufacturers, having helped build up to having one or two ”mega dealers” by now owned by city private equity types, rather than the original families that built them up, will have discovered the superior service provided by...
