I've afi heat detection and the software and afi milk meters but no software or id. Did you have to buy the software for the milk data separately? I milk record, no freeze brand so can be a bit of a Torture. If I could put in Eid readers handy enough and link into the heat detection software...
I think you need to point out that this is for farmers who use EBI or are aware of the ebi values of their herds. You could guide people who answer "no" to using ebi what their reasons are. The rest of the survey is irrelevant to them.
Maybe just buy one of those milk heaters and store the milk for the next feed in a sealed unit. Time it to come on when you want to feed the young ones for next feed. I feed the main batch of calves before milking in the evening and it does annoy me sometimes feeding the young calves after all...
Take an early first and 4-5wk regrowth 2nd regardless then bulk the 3rd for dry cows (preferably with very little to no slurry). Dry cows love stem and dry. Round bale haylage is wonderful stuff
That's the problem with all these things. Like an insurance package with just far too many add ons that you don't need but then can't live without. You use them, you think your results are maybe better or maybe no better but could have been worse. Are then scared to stop using incase things go...
I'm at the stage you started this thread off with in thinking it's too good to be true. I need to replace my hot water tank and looking at just the tank, tank and heat exchange or this system. Over 10 years with electric at 20p/KW the Arkaya system comes in considerably cheaper. I'm needing...
Would recommend the same. Modern dairy cows can milk on through for a year and a half easily without too much loss in yield and when you consider the increase in fat and protein it's probably even less. I sold my autumn calvers and bought in spring calving heifers but only bought in problems...
I'm looking at putting some sort of heat recovery in but also need to update my hot water tank. My Dad brought a leaflet of this home from Dairy Tech. Any more reviews about it?
It's proven science. In terms of cost. I've been told you don't really save or lose anything financially at current fertiliser costs. It's the reduction in bought in chemical fertiliser and reduction on ammonia emissions from the farm which the industry is going to have to do whether you...
Surely as a dairy farmer you are bound to have handled plenty of drums or ibcs full of alkaline and acid. I never have to go near the stuff.
If someone was coming to separate your slurry and acidify it at the same time you would never even be near it or see it.
Socket for the pump that has its own remote control switch on it. Means you can turn the pump on or off if you have the pipe pulled down the calf house.
