Very few people are "man" managers. Farmers are no different. Most of the ones I know, I'd never choose to work for them.
Staff management is 100x more difficult than managing cows.
The MMB had various farmers sitting on various committees representing their area or region. I got to know the names rather than their farms back then.
Roll on 20/30 years, I've had the opportunity of visiting many of these farms. The above comments by @ollie989898 are so true. Very much an eye...
As a kid at school 40+ years ago I was on the tubby side.
When I look at school kids today, I'd have measured in at "normal" weight.
Jeez, there are some real health problems heading our way. I reckon there's gonna be a massive hate campaign, kids/parents. Why did you let me get so obese?
TBH, sounds like milk quotas all over again.
Arrived with nil value. Then a crazy buyers/sellers and lease market created, only to be ditched with a stroke of a pen a few years later.
Totally agree! When listening to a list of press 1 for this, 2 for this, I just wait for "press x for Accounts". Any company always wants to take money, so they always pick up. Never fails, and they're pretty good at finding the extension of the person you actually need to speak to 👍
Like and understand your response 👍. Like I say, recharging not easy where I live (not a farm, yard, drive, or anything remotely convenient).
In my 40+ years of driving I've always bought my car outright [part exchange probably involved]. It's a Yorkshire attitude - if you can't afford to buy...
Some truth in what you've written!
I keep an eye on this thread, but realise there's lots of willy waving.
However I'm considering changing my motor this year, and had thought "half way house" may be good to go hybrid. But who knows 🤷♀️
I don't contribute to the grid and would find it difficult...
Yes, often take out my initial cost of the shares when it's there to take. Everything left and it's growth is 100%.
TBH never make any calculations as you do. % doesn't bother me, it's £ for me. Very much a game for me. Would never back horses, but an odd flutter on shares can be fun.
