I don't think it will be worth under 2.5k , you might get 3k as it is as genuine ones that look tidy and haven't been piddled on with are hard to find even if they need work.
I saw one on e bay get bid to 1600 that wasn't complete and had stood for a decade, think no engine?
I paid 3600 for a...
Look for a seasonal job like lambing or harvest work, if you fit in the employer chances are word of mouth will find you another position.
Depends what you like working with but plenty of people in Cumbria having lambing jobs, work on dairy farms at weekends, drive tractors through the summer...
I make no comment as to whether you are right or not about that but what a hassle, getting the legal bods involved is a waste of life, he said, she said , yes we did, no we didn't, life is too short.
I have a GX 525 , bought it at 9k hours now on nearly 11k, watch for the oil/ water cooler failing under the radiator .
Mine has been good really, just had joystick rebuilt at £300 , brakes are good, oil pumps cheap and easy to change, perkins engine but they don't seem to be well liked .

I suppose someone has to be last , this year it looks like my turn.
That is the worst way as your hole fills with mucky water and you end up with sand and silt going down the entire drain system, don't do it this way whatever you do.
Having looked again at your picture I will guess that it is the main that is blocked as quite often the main comes down parallel to a road side gutter and empties into that gutter at the bottom of the field, check firstly that you know where the system outlet is and that it is flowing, if it is...
I wouldn't put a new bit of pipe to the hedge as the hedge roots will get in it quite quickly and block your new bit.
Start below where the water has come up, it doesn't mean that is where your blockage is, it just means that is the easiest route to the surface and try to find the system the...
I can't help you with a cause but the only starter repair place up here in Cumbria closed recently and TBH we think it isn't worth while trying to find somewhere else for the price of new , put a new one on and make sure you fit one of those 'Irska' makes that spins the engine twice as fast as...
