Yes. We have tried those and they do work just seem to be using a lot of them. Ideally looking by at stopping the problem happening in the first place!
Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop calves cross suckling? Rearing channel island breed calves in group hutches (as required by milk buyer) on milk bar teats. Calves fed mothers milk for first 4 days on bottle then transition onto feeder with milk powder. I’m feeding 3.5L morning and night...
Looking for advice/ideas.
We are a AYR herd averaging 6500l with Channel Islands cows. Have a mixer wagon which the milkers are fed blend, fodder beet and grass silage. Dry cows were fed through mixer wagon too but we were experiencing fresh cow problems.
For the last 3-4 months we have moved...
I was just wondering if anyone ran their cows through the parlour for vet visits and if so what the vet stands on.
We are milking through a 16/32 Delaval Swingover and it seems to make more sense to decrease the time handling cows for the vet, but need some ideas of a frame to make it work!
