We've a Rockdoor outward opening. Trouble is it faces south west so in full sun (when it's not raining) and being black it's bubbled in a couple of places and warped. You can now only lock it from the outside by nudging the bottom half to with your knee.

Nearly all the top price, heaviest bulls will be over 16mths, or that's what it appears in Bakewell. I had a 23mth old to 310p/kg last month, came to over £2500 in the lump!

Agreed! Doesn't do the breed many favours when their national champion only calves every other year! Not always, my show heifer who won multiple Interbreeds held 1st service to sexed semen. But yes I won't buy a show bull. Showing is a hobby for me, but the cows are my main source of income first.

I'm giving her a 2nd chance, but she won't have a 3rd! 99 times out of 100 I'd have gone in the shed to find a calf sucking. And the calf is registered to her 😉 I tag all dead calves and register the birth.
