    That’s good going, immeasurable amount of song birds saved, it will make a big difference to this years breeding birds, there’s two awd lads I know are mad keen trappers ones 90 the other 86, not enough folk do it 👍🏼

    Nothing, that’s the trouble all predators need a predator, otherwise you’re relying on starvation or bad weather to control they’re numbers

    It was for a mate about three years ago but it has caught when baited, you can just make out the old one behind it, mates dad runs Larsens for maggys and crows around the farm also

    I made this one based on the BASC plans, beefed it up to 2”x2” and tweaked the measurements so it fit on an old greenhouse frame base

    That’s i good idea, that was biggest problem for me when I did it, infill rubble moving and jamming the core drilll, seem to think I drilled a pilot hole right through and drilled from both sides

    Well exactly, everything’s got to eat, and it probably went off and caught a blackbird or something else nice, and all she’s done is prolong the pigeons distress, but it just a sad example of how detached folk are from wildlife and and how brutal it can be

    It’s cliche but it is all a fine balance, it’s unavoidable that man’s actions affect wildlife, just one example, wood pigeon population has exploded due to modern farming but grey partridge numbers decline, some species thrive and exploit man,others can’t adapt.
