KUHN has launched a new self-propelled, autonomous diet feeder capable of feeding 280 cows. The new AURA works autonomously using GPS and RTK to move around a farm collecting and feeding out a TMR. Inbuilt loading and weighing modules calculate the exact mix of forage material including grass and maize, along with any supplements and concentrates required.



The AURA’s 3m3 mixing tank features two vertical augers that require a lower power requirement and feature KUHN’s K-NOX technology to guarantee a service life of six times longer than steel alternatives. The mixing and chopping speed can be adjusted to create a homogenous TMR with a palatable consistency.

The Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) alongside the Farm Safety Partnership (FSP), has named new farm safety champions and commended the outstanding work on farm safety that has been carried out in the farming community in the last 20 years.

Two of these champions are Malcom Downey, retired principal inspector for the Agri/Food team in HSENI and Harry Sinclair, current chair of the Farm Safety Partnership and former president of the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU).

Hi everyone,
ADAS are working with the NFU and SRUC to guide the development of a new Sustainable Farming Incentive Standard for Integrated Pest Management (IPM). This Defra-funded project will help farmers, growers and advisers to combine cultural, biological, physical and chemical tools to manage pests, weeds, and diseases in an environmentally sensitive way.

We are developing an online decision support tool and practical guidance to assist growers in producing IPM plans specific to their cropping system. To do this, we need as many arable, grass, and horticultural growers as possible to get involved now in the development so that when the SFI standard does come out in 2023, it is relevant and useful for all growers.

Participants will be reimbursed for their time on the project...

Animals took centre stage at the Great Yorkshire Show today, with a host of Supreme Championship winners and the ever-popular Ripon Select Foods Cock O’ the North show jumping competition.



There were some special visitors from the Sheffield-based Roshni Asian Women’s Resource Centre, who saw the goats being judged, and an appearance on the new GYS stage by TV host Matt Baker MBE who was interviewed by host Christine Talbot as well as chatting to sheep exhibitors and watching horse shoeing classes.



Competition was fierce in the show rings, with cattle, sheep, pigs and horses all challenging for the titles of Supreme Champion.
