Thanks for reading my post.

I have been a semi skilled joiner for nearly 13 years and have been itching at a career change for some time now.

I have decided to try and pursue a new career in the arable side of farming at the age of 29 (hope I’m not too late).
In my pursuit to get a foothold in the industry I have contacted many farmers and gained advice from them but unfortunately have had no luck gaining full time employment. I have been informed many a time that reliable workers are hard to come by in agriculture. I would like to assure you that I am extremely reliable and understand the hours and passion it takes to be a farmer in general.
To further my chances of getting some work in this area I paid to do my NPTC telehandler training. Although I have had not had the opportunity...

Angus based precision farming solutions pioneers SoilEssentials have announced that they are going to be arranging catch up calls and chats to anyone who would have been planning to visit them at this year’s Highland Show in order to say hello, and raise money for charity at the same time.

With so many agricultural shows cancelled in 2020, the team at SoilEssentials have come up with an alternative, which means existing and potential customers can receive a call from them instead.

Starting on Monday 15th June through to Friday 19th June, the SoilEssentials team will be keeping their diaries clear to make lots of calls… and the more calls the better, as they will be donating £1.00 for every call made to RSABI as part of their #KeepTalking campaign.

Callers can get expert opinion on...

Final chance to maximise grain fill with sugar optimiser

Following a tough season, cereal growers have a final chance to increase grain fill and boost yield by using a unique product that relocates sugars found in plants.

3 ALO t6p contains a precursor and unique signalling compound of the sugar regulating Trehalose pathway, which manages plant processes such as balancing carbohydrates, including sucrose. As the main fuel generated by photosynthesis, sucrose is key to the development of cereal grains.

The UK is primed for a strong cherry season, with around 6,000t of home-grown British cherries predicted to hit supermarket shelves this year, broadly similar to last year’s bumper harvest.

The figures are from Love Fresh Cherries, Britain’s largest representative trade body for British and imported cherries in the UK.

Consumers will be able to buy home-grown cherries from the end of June, with this year’s British cherry harvest expected to begin a week earlier than in 2019 thanks to crops coming on slightly faster through this year’s warm spring.

British cherry industry body Love Fresh Cherries is predicting good availability for both retailers and consumers...

Written by Agriland Team

Almost 70 groups and individuals representing farmers, producers, vets and researchers from across the world have written an “open letter” to highlight the valuable role that animal agriculture has held during the Covid-19 pandemic.

From Europe to the US, from New Zealand to Africa and Canada leading farming associations, agricultural academics, producer associations, and other high-level industry stakeholders are “pushing back” against what is described as “misinformation” around animal agriculture that has circulated throughout the outbreak.

The European signatories include: Pekka Pesonen secretary general of Copa-Cogeca; Minette Batters president of the...
