Hello folks.
I'm after a twin rotor rake and just wondered which is best value one to get and which will last a long time.

We want to be able to put 3-1 10' swaths but also want to be able to do 2 into 1 Aswell.

It's to go up a pickup reel on the lely Storm 130p and the pick up is 6' wide on a good day. Lol.

What do people recommend to get, and experiences would be good to hear Aswell. Thanks

Krone row up nice and clean from what I have used.
Something like a swardro 900 with hydraulic in and out shift would do your job.

Have used a Lely hibscus, big, cumbersome thing didnt row as clean/ couldnt go as quick.
Class are popular around here too

I think you'll struggle to get a rake that'll do 2 into 1 and 3 into 1 that'll leave it narrow enough for a 6ft pick up. If it was me I'd stick to 20fts, something like a Kuhn 6501 or Claas 2600

You're going need a big rake as you will need to be running on the narrowest row settings all the time with a pickup that narrow and will probably be lossing almost a metre raking width compared to raking for a self propelled chopper but there is no reason why it can't take two x10ft rows as you can mainly use just one rotor as your row won't have to be balanced like a baler needs

Following the outside row left by a big rake will be fun in a heavy crop. Do you struggle with a 30 ft or keep 1 rotor in the air and leave an untidy row?

Leave both rotors down and only take approximately a foot of grass with the rotor that's having an easy time to stop the other rotor over throwing and leaving an untidy edge by over throwing grass.
This works well with my square baler in very heavy crops of hay and haylage as enables a far quicker constant forward without blockages and increasing through put.

I'm talking about the first time around the field! No fences or hedges in your part of the world?

I agree.
Would love a rake that would do this for the baler. Would help in the lighter cuts and raking for a harvester

Normal row first, then as nearly always the outside round is slightly lighter. If not row second round inwards and then do outside round and then push second round out and go for it.

early class could run with 1 arm up in air, newer ones can just lift clear of crop.
As said they do break arms, you can weld them but ours have now started breakling further in and that makes it difficult
