Hi all, I have recently purchased a 1997 6180 Dynashift.

In having an issue whereby occasionally (7 out of 10 times) when I disengage the PTO the gears jump to D through to The gear im in I.e b or a.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks

Not experienced it personally but if Dyna is shifting to D that would indicate a pressure loss. If it happens when you DISENGAGE then possibly PTO brake circuit has a leak.

The solenoid will be on the Rh side of gearbox with a row of others you should be able to follow the little steel pipe that runs around to the top link bracket to find it, disconnect the electric to it and see if you problem goes away

I have disconnected the solenoid at the top of the row which the pipe seams to go to and still no different other than the Pto brake doesn't work. Uploaded a video of what happens even worth brake solenoid disconnected

If you only move the pto switch back to the centre and not fully anticlockwise the PTO brake won't cone on anyhow. Does it still do it then? Does your 4wd work as it should? Try it with 4wd engaged. They can loose pressure in the drop box shaft due to worn sealing rings. Got a half feeling your tractor will be stuck in 4wd

Hi. I have just checked and when I put in to the centre it still does it, the 4wd light also comes on when it does it. The Pto brake is still disconnected.

Any Ideas where I go from here?

Ours is doing this but our pto won't start up then some times it starts up fine. Only does it when we try use th pto but it seems to be fine at the min. We put a new sensor switch on top of the filter housing.

I have checked wires to the box under the cab floor, I can't find anything noticeable.

It sounds more like a pressure issue rather than electric but funnier things have happened!!! There's a good earth bank by the step where the autotronic box is, remove and clean here sometimes cures or pinpoints to faults.

I don't know what it was for but its on top of the filter housing and you get a kit to fit. It hasn't happened since. I prosume that if the sensor is faulty and thinks it is picking up on low pressure it will default to 4wd and d range and take the pto out for safety.

mine does that too. hasnt done it from i fitted a new key switch and the lights in the dash are brighter.

my lift arms dont work though, not even a light for telling me a code abut batter and leads are all good for red and yellow wire.

Check alternator, if wrong will stop lift arms working.
Un do multi pin plug into control console, there should be 3 lives grouped together,1 permanent,1 off ignition switch and 3rd when tractor starts.I had one with corroded wire behind console.
