Woman airlifted to hospital after being attacked trying to stop thieves stealing sheep

Your judicary are just as useless then, the number of suspended sentences handed out to scum with numerous convictions what planet do they live on (n)
The stupid British legal system. Magistrates who are made up of people with too much time on their hands. They have no idea how the scum who steal and cause misery to decent hard working people effects them and the emotional turmoil they suffer. I looked at being a magistrate after being hacked off at a few things, done a bit of research and thought why do we need magistrates. The hoops the police need to jump through to actually get a thief to court are imense. Talk about going around Spain to get to Edinburgh from London. In reality anyone who does go to court are guilty. A robot could sit there and decide on the amount of jail time.

"Anyone who goes to court is guilty". Really, there are plenty that aren't.

Try googling Stefan Kiszko, he wasn't. DNA evidence proved he could not have committed the crime. Easy target for the police though.

Or this one

The police love to fit people up and sometimes they are wrongly convicted.

I agree with what you say about lay magistrates, the ones that do it are the most unsuitable people. There are decent candidates but they don't apply.

Stipendiary (professional) magistrates are far better.

Disgusting.

I can't believe there's 13000 animals stolen just up there!! That's a fair old racket going on. So much for traceability.

Criminals seem to receive greater protection form the law than do the victims. One day there will be another Tony Martin, and without wishing to drag up the ins-and-outs of that specific case, it wouldn't surprise me to find that the person defending their property or themselves walks free.

I for one am sick to the back teeth of criminals acting with what seems to be complete impunity, secure in the knowledge that their actions will result in no more than a conditional discharge. It's high time that our legal system accepted that those who break the Laws of our land, automatically relinquish their 'Rights'. The 'rough' aspect of rough-justice is indeed justice and it needs to be applied.

We can't have a society where we take the law in to our own hands, but with our restricted and effectively inept police force, there are those I feel sure, who will feel that they have no other alternative.

Message for the unfortunate lady. Cross between being brave and stupid to take them on. I would as always provide two options, 1 to cut the valves on the vehicle tyres if you have a knife, very easy, quick and effective.
2 A lady should always carry a travel size 100ml hairspray can in her pocket. Slight change to the outlet with the use of a dart or awl so that it comes out as a jet not a spray. Ask any woman if she has mistakenly got hair spray in her eyes. Similar effect to Mace. Have used it on holiday to good effect on potential muggers, could have heard the squeals a couple of miles away, especially when the nut cracking size tens got involved.

Shoot the theives and hope for a suspended sentence;) (yea right they'll throw the book at you)
It is unusual to be armed when you meet that type of circumstance plus it is inadvisable due to the crims HUMAN rights to shoot him.
However hairspray for a woman and or WD40 and a lighter in your pocket is an unfortunate circumstance. She sprays it in his eyes, you set fire to him with the best shop bought flame thrower you can buy.
Most important thing is only quote your name and address and say one thing, I used justifiable force to defend myself. Say nothing, absolutely nothing else without a top class brief present.
Money well spent, got the tee shirt more than once.
