As a business man , that is dictated to by the weather how far ahead do rely on weather forecasts to "TRY" and plan your business.
If you do rely on weather forecast service to plan your week ahead, which weather forecast service have you found the most accurate.

Up to a week for hay and silage making but I think at times the weather is so changeable from mile to mile that weather forecasts are almost impossible to predict.
Normally use the BBC forecast while having breakfast or the one that comes up first on the hudl but at times some of these forecasts change almost hourly!!!!

But never trust the forecast on Any bank holiday weekend as always say it's going be good to get holidays booked and then change their minds last minute unless it is actually dry.

The thread is a serious question, and not pointing at the so say forecasters that post on TFF.
An accurate 7-10 day weather forecast for us country folk is a very essential tool .

In this game an accurate forecast makes a great deal of difference. It is very hard to find an accurate forecast and to me it seems to be getting harder. The BBC has traditionally been the one I look to but this has become so dumbed down and sensationalised it is almost useless.
Forecasts now seem to be no more than an idea of what might happen. I honestly don't think you can rely on any forecast much at all for any length of time and as for the sosayers on here I would more likely trust my 2 yr old grandson and rightly so.

I don't think you can really rely on it that much as it's always so changable. You have to consider it but if you thinks somethings right do it. To be honest they are all really having a guess at it anyway and sometimes they are so wrong it's funny

Every 8am, I print out the 5-day report from Pitchcare. I then write what the weather was on the day before, so I can see back how accurate they have been. It has been pretty good this summer. But if it is for something critical, I use the weather charts at weatheronline and make my own mind up, then 'tis only me to blame.

I'm really shocked that so many intelligent people "belive" the forecast, it's not exactly what IS going to happen, it's just a guide to what they expect. All it takes is a small change in wind speed or direction and it all change

Yes but "mostly sunny" forecast that changes to pissing down all day in reality is a bit more than a slight change.

Looking at the weather charts and making your own mind up is best.

For the £££ they spend on Met Offic IT, I'd expect them to know 12 hours ahead what is going to happen. I'd take a forecast of 2mm of rain that resulted in 22mm as a failure tbh.

www.weather.com for 10 day local forecast. Usually quite accurate, particularly for rain, wind direction and strength. All important to me at different times. Next two or three days better than 10 of course. But up to 15 still quite good.

www.sat24.com for current and recent cloud cover and rain. Very useful because you can see whether there is any rain moving towards you, or, as today with a lot of nearby thunder and lightning (vey unusual in August) that it was likely to miss us. It did, so I am pleased I have kept the irrigation going. Switch off before dinner.
