Which roller?

Hi all, I'm looking at a roller to use after cultivating wheat stubble.
Rollers are pretty much unknown here in Australia, so I'm chasing a bit of knowledge.
Wheat is cut short at harvest, chopped and broadcast. Stubbles are then cultivated using a K-Line speedtiller - in between a heliador or or and a Rubin. Due to climate around sowing time (February so potentially very hot) the fluffy soil after working dries right out and gives pretty terrible seed soil contact, the top couple of inhes then doesn't hold moisture as its too open making seeding oilseeds and forage brassicas a nightmare.
Burning isn't really an option and our stubble loads are huge, so leaving it standing isn't on the cards.
I need to press the dirt reasonably hard to get better seed contact and restore capillary action.
I think I need a Cambridge roll? But am unsure.
Is there any breed I should be chasing? Does weight make much difference? How to they deal with rocks?
The machine would be imported used from the UK.
Thanks all.

Rolling will definitely increase seed to soil contact. If the soil is drying out very quickly once cultivated, could you also direct drill so that your loosing less moisture?

In the UK most people roll after drilling, either conventional or direct drill.

Ideally I would be direct drilling, but we run a disc seeder which suits 80% of what we do, hair pinning and depth control makes it prohibitive with our stubble load. Also slugs are an issue in our area and stubble retention exacerbates the problem
