How to use the search facility & find your content.

There are several threads on how to use the excellent search facility here. But though a step by step guide as a sticky may prove useful.

2 ways to search highlighted click either.

If you click the one on the top tab it looks like this, again click where highlighted.

the one on the far right looks like this, simply type in your search word.

Type in search word, where highlighted, this is for the facility on the top tabs.

like this.

Lots of results in seconds! which may then be further filtered, with the relevance tab.

One thing i find frustrating with this site is how hard it can be to find threads that i have previously posted in. The hilux site that i am involved with has a very useful little tab to click on "view your posts" . This gives you a list of all topics that you have replied too. It makes it so much easier to see if someone has replied to a topic, or to go back to ,to post an update or the like.....Just a thought for the staff here.

There is a 'your content' clicky under your username at the top. I'm guessing it doesn't go back far enough though.

Use bookmarks / notify -that’s the only way I can keep tabs on threads I’m involved in - it works very much like what you describe in the hilux site

How do I search for a thread where someone was asking about dealers for used CHPs a month or so ago. If I put in "used CHP" it complains that the words are too short or too common. @Chris F ?

sadly this is a limitation of the forums search system - has to be more than 3 words

have you tried the forum google search ?
