Why do you want it telescopic.? If you want wider for stability what about some thing like stabilisers on a child's cycle that could fold up when on road

Assume so he can push it out so axles are running on virgin ground and reduce compaction. Was there not a video on here a while back of a self propelled tanker in holland that had a telescopic axel? Or did it just angle and crab to get the same effect?

Major made a lift axle if you are looking inspiration

I used to hire a 3000g challenger,I never rated it (n) the running gear is something daft like £8.5k,and then all it wanted to do was go straight when cornering on the road.

Best set up locally is a 3000g with and air lift axle, far cheaper and works better than majors idea.(y)

As pine guy posted I want to run in a different track (y) my tanker is already tandem but I want to spread the weight with an extra axle and have it so it extends and lifts.

No worries it was only a suggestion. I've no experience with the challengers myself.
We run two 3000g NC tankers, twin axle, steering axle on 560 BKT's and seem to get away well on the ground.
Although in February we will bring in the flotation tanker and keep it in the field.

I'm sure I saw a 3 wheeler Horsch with an extra , telescopic , lifting axle , was in Profi maybe 10 years ago , think it was for drilling into an even bed . The Horsch company do a chaser bin which has an telescopic axle according to their website , more for stability .

Not a Horsch but a similar setup here from Vervaet.

Terragators had a system they called the dog walk, where the front and rear axles could crab so that they where not running in the same wheelings.
Could you not fit a ram onto the drawbar so the tanker slews to one side and runs on different ground to the tractor

Are we fitting an axle, or two independent bogies one each side?
You might have enough room to lift each wheel without retracting it, depending on the angle you use for the pivot point.

Moving drawbar, why does the wheels have to move?

Veenhuis do swivel drawbars. It's going to pull sidewards at some point though. Not when using a splashplate I'd imagine but if you put an 8 meter shitty injector with discs on you might get some drag.

This is the dogs danglies to me though, 4 650/65R42 tyres next to eachother with the outer ones shoving out.

If you want to see more telescopic axles search for the dutch word "spreidas" which means spreading axle.
