Have a Grey/Gold with Nov '57 casting date upside down on the gearbox, are you saying that it should be red? Old man's had it since '64 so I doubt it
Not exactly, but as we know the colour changed during November 1957, the likelihood is a tractor with a NOV casting would be Red/Grey?
I looked at the gearbox vs engine casting dates on our two tonight and on both tractors the gearbox was cast later than engine so is nearer to the build date.
On our diesel one the gearbox was cast only a fortnight before assembly, but the engine block a full six weeks!

Just look at the clutch pedal. If it's a smaller pedal, like on the t-20, it's grey and gold. If the clutch is the same look as the brake pedals, with grips on, then it's red and grey.

Thats a point....something ive never worked out the reason for

grey gold, and 4 cly red models had sprung brake rods, if you pressed the pedals real hard the springs compressed

3 cyls had plain, solid brake rods?

Serial no is 73283 with gearbox date of 7.11.57. Where do I find the engine date?
