Anyway, once again a thread has been taken off topic by one that will never use precision farming....
Stef, your skills are very good. Do you have an engineering/programming background???
Where would you like your kit going in the future? What jobs would you like to automate? Can you see yourself developing driverless machines?
Ps would you export to west norfolk? Think I have a lead for you!

The irony John ........ Tech is bad... Well accept when you want to boast about your amazing skills at driving old relics.....
Past caring what you think of my people skills John as I'll never deal with you

Sleepy, it really is that easy, go on start up yourself... What's the worse that could happen? Oh yes, a know it all customer that thinks autosteer is for wimps and that real men don't need it.....

If I dared mention that fence I'd get the thread removed and lots of messages about bullying yet I am allowed to get sarky comments..... I have feelings too.....

There a difference between being sarcastic....and being a plain, simple twit

when you discover the difference.....and treat people in a manner respective of thier intelligence....you may, although i dont hold much hope of this, understand what i mean

i suspect the fencing thread was a sherry fuelled rant,,,as did many others....you succeeded in proving to everyone else what i had personally known for a long long time however.............

Got me in one!
Now move on!

I would....but this is the internet...once you find a weakness...you pick at it like a festering scab

as for the fencing, just an update, i decided that seeing as the customer couldnt clearly prove they had sufficient funds to both complete the job and pay me....id let someone else take the risk, there were plenty out there willing to do it far cheaper than i could....and id retreat back into my little man cave and carry on rebuilding 50 year old tractors what people are now putting back into work because modern ones are too expensive to run and unreliable

i cant believe they accused you of bulling...fancy that :ROFLMAO:

Can't believe I had to Unignore you just to read that!
Serious question John, can you ever see yourself using some form of automation? Be it section control, vra, drones, targeted spray? Land levelling? Laser guidence?
Just curious.
Where do you see the future of tractor and machine operator going? You must know that that industry is facing a huge skill shortage ?

You might be suprised...

ive currently got the feelers out for an automatic rate controller and associated wheel sensor/wiring for the sprayer....as we have picked up a lot of paddock work recently....and bouncing over pock marked paddocks at 9k isnt doing my back, or my sprayer any good whatsoever

its got to be cheap to make it worthwhile...or il just carry on adjusting pressure and speed via the chart whats stuck on the console next to the control box

you forget...i went from manual section control to full 4 section electrics and boom hydraulics for £150...and had it plumbed in and working in under a day

@Lecrub: Tutorial is not in the scope right now; besides the soft/system is not actually available for users (actually mounting the system on 2 neighbor's tractor)
I already gave some explanations along this topic(did you read all posts?) but I'll be glad to answer to specific question/concern.
Yes stef, i read all posts of the topic. But i am still wondering about the software you are using.
I could buy a novatel antena and get a Windows running tablet but i won't be able to get the soft to manage guidance...

First of all, congratulations Stef.
I´d like to say that novatel ag-star accuracy can be improved using RTK. It could be performed using CORS corrections. It´s an easy and cheap way to get a higher precision, it doesn´t get the ones L1+L2 receivers but it is enough to get 3-5 cm pass to pass.

here in belgium, 3-4 years ago, Ntrip correction by mobile phone was for free (except mobile communications); provided by the State. This service was then privatized and actually costs a 500-600€ yearly fee for one system.

Hey Stef, love the work. I'm assuming you are making a version to sell. I've started developing the same stuff here in Canada using .NET and OpenGL, SharpGL specifically, however with the sole purpose of making it open source. Also arduino based autosteer/section control.

Tapping into the world of ISOBUS has been a seriously frustrating world of proprietary and expensive access to PGN's etc.

Specifically what are you thoughts on turning all this into open source? There are a few of us around on the web,

http://lefebure.com/

is another although i think he gave up on commercializing the software and autosteer and just sells hardware

Some enhancements done in headland autoturn functionality give the following result:

If you pause the video, you can see ( just below the "virtual field image" in a green button) the distance before headland turn, the direction (left/right) and the swath number which will be followed.

Still investigating how to take control of JD canbus...

Is IMU working out of the box, or have you made alterations to RTKlib?
I'm just testing/building a standalone Tilt sensor; currently no relation with RTK sub-project.
The objective is to measure the cab tilt/roll whatever the GPS signal/correction you use/receive.
