Hi everyone,
A familiar pattern this October, an easterly wind is becoming established across the UK as we head into this weekend. This will bring cool conditons to all parts, and showers to eastern districts. Full details in the forecast below.
We've seen the first snow of the autumn this week over the tops of the Scottish mountains, reminding us that colder times are arriving.
Our 'Winter Weather Watch' video will be a valuable source of information for Weatherweb Premium members over the months ahead, helping you to plan ahead for the weather conditons which may adversely impact on your activities, such as frost, ice, snow, heavy rain, gales... etc!

WEEKEND FORECAST
=============
Issued: 17:30, 20/10/16
SATURDAY
-------------
An easterly pattern influences the British Isles. A lot of cloud overall, occasional sun.
Showers in eastern regions, may locally produce frequent rain near some North Sea coasts. A few showers will advance well inland. Mainly dry in western Britain. Risk of showers over the Irish Sea drifting into eastern parts of Ireland.
Fairly light winds in central areas, but breezy around exposed coasts: in south-east England N-NE F4-F5 (15-20kt), veering E F3-F4 (10-15kt). In the south-west, E F5 or increasingly F6 (20-25kt). Around the Irish Sea, southern Scotland & northern England E-NE F4 to often F5 (15-20kt) in exposure. Northern Scotland E-SE F4 or F5 (12-17kt), perhaps less toward Shetland.
Sheltered valleys in the west and north may start with a touch of frost. Top afternoon temperatures 11 to 14C.
SUNDAY
----------
Dry for many places, with broken cloud and occasional sun, generally best in the west & north-west.
A few showers are likely along North Sea coasts, mainly north-east England & eastern Scotland. Some rain may encroach into the far south-west later.
A fresh easterly breeze along English Channel coasts, E F6 (25kt), or increasingly F7 (30kt), strongest in the south-west. Elsewhere, E F5 or F6 (20-25kt) in northern Britain & Irish Sea, but in eastern England perhaps F4 or locally less (12-17kt).
Local morning mist patches will soon clear. The breeze overnight into Sunday should prevent a frost, keeping temperatures at 5 to 8C or above for most. Cool in the daytime, highs just 10 to 13C.
