Hi. do you know if the coloured fibre cement sheets are just painted or if they are coloured right through?

Need to change the roof on old tool shed and thinking the dark grey would be good but wandered if I can just paint the sheets myself if that's all they do? its only about 12 sheets

Marley Eternit fibre cement sheets are painted, not through coloured. You can use a good quality masonry paint (wash coat + 1 or 2 topcoats) if you don't want the wait 3-4 weeks for Eternit to produce them. BUT this will VOID any warranty on the sheets.
 
coloured sheets are indeed just over coated after manufacture...albeit in factory conditions so adhesion is vey good. If you plan to over coat yourself ( no reason no too) just ensure the sheets are clean and grease free before painting...... so you only have to do it once!

Very good point re voiding warranty. Porous sheets are not uncommon...
