I see the truck driving as a standby for a bit xtra income in quiet spells.when i done my cpc courses there were 2 mid 50s retired gents who had worked in offices all there days and wanted to do something for a few years so decided to sit there lgv and couldnt wait to get on the road lol.

Got a friend who had his own grain bulker for years, gave up this year and now drives a milk tanker, he is far happier and says he should have done it a long time ago,

We are over in the States on Holiday at the moment and were in seeing a friend who runs a inter state trucking business and he was telling us there is a 20% shortage of truck drivers over here at the moment and they have some truck drivers driving for then now that are part time and in there 70,80 and 2 that are in there 90's, He said it makes very little difference how much the pay is people just do not want to do the job now, they all so have 90 odd owner operators pulling trailers for them now. Sounds just like back at home , no one wants these jobs now
